The people behind Cello.

Cello opened its doors in September 2000, on the Great North Road shopfront the salon still trades from today. In June 2026, twenty-six years in, it passed to Diana, with the same chairs, the same corner and clients who have been booking since the first year.

The people in this photograph are the ones you will meet at the front desk, at the basins and at the chair.

Over 130 years of combined expertise and mastery. One salon. Endless confidence.

Owner

Diana.

Every woman deserves to feel confident, valued and empowered.

As the owner of Cello, Diana brings a people-focused approach, a passion for beauty and a deep commitment to creating meaningful connections within the community.

Before entering the hairdressing industry, Diana worked as a financial adviser, where she loved building trusted relationships and helping clients feel empowered and confident about their financial futures. Although salon ownership is a different professional path, the values at the heart of both roles remain the same: listening carefully, understanding individual needs and helping people feel confident in themselves.

Diana is especially passionate about empowering women in every aspect of their lives. She believes that feeling good about yourself can have a positive influence far beyond the salon, and that every woman deserves to feel confident, valued and empowered.

Outside of the salon, Diana enjoys learning Spanish, watching documentaries, travelling and horse riding. She is always curious, open to new experiences and inspired by the people, places and stories she encounters along the way.

    Nuccia

Nuccia is often the first friendly face you’ll see at the salon, and she brings a genuine love of beauty, hair and the latest beauty trends to everything she does. With a background as a hairdresser, she understands the salon experience from behind the chair as well as the front desk.

Nuccia believes great service never goes out of style. She is committed to old-school customer service: warm welcomes, personal attention, and making every client feel looked after from the moment they walk in until the moment they leave.

Outside the salon, Nuccia is a self-confessed foodie who loves discovering new places to eat, travelling, and spending quality time with her family.

I started my apprenticeship right here at Cello when I was just 15, and 26 years later, I’m still talking for a living, while creating new styles!

I love a good laugh, a good chat and, most importantly, putting smiles on people’s faces!

Outside the salon, I’m a busy mum of three, footy mad and usually organising a team, planning an event or coming up with my next crazy idea!

I’m all about being kind, making memories and having fun along the way. Life’s too short to be grumpy!

My hair philosophy? Great hair is one thing, but walking out feeling a million bucks and with a smile on your face? That’s the real magic!

Originally from Brazil, I bring a little Brazilian warmth and energy wherever I go! I love travelling, exploring new places and discovering new experiences. When I’m not at the salon, you’ll probably find me planning my next adventure or at the gym!

One of my favourite things about hairdressing is working with colour and seeing clients leave the salon feeling refreshed, beautiful and confident.

I’m a friendly, easygoing person who loves connecting with people, sharing a laugh and bringing positive vibes to the salon. I believe that great hair starts with a great experience, and I love being part of that!

With 25 years of experience in hairdressing, I’m passionate about creating beautiful hair that makes you feel refreshed, confident and fabulous!

My favourite thing about hairdressing is the power of a great haircut. There’s something so special about creating an instant refresh and a whole new feel with just a pair of scissors and a comb. For me, it’s all about those transformations that make you feel like the best version of yourself.

I also love all things colour, from modern balayage techniques and beautiful lived-in colours to seamless grey blending. I love creating colour that enhances your natural beauty and grows out effortlessly, complemented by classic, modern and elegant styling.

My approach is professional yet down-to-earth, and my chair is always a place where you can feel comfortable, relax and enjoy a good old chat! I love building genuine connections with my clients and making every salon visit an enjoyable experience.

    Katie

I’m Katie and I’m a passionate and dedicated hairdresser who loves all aspects of the hairdressing industry. I love creating beautiful styles, transforming hair with colour and helping my clients look and feel their best. But if there’s one thing I could do all day, it’s foiling! I love the creativity, precision and artistry that go into creating beautiful colour results.

Outside of the salon, I have a real passion for travel and adventure. I love exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and making unforgettable memories along the way. I’m also a qualified scuba diver, which gives me the opportunity to explore the incredible underwater world and discover what lies beneath the surface.

Whether I’m behind the chair creating beautiful hair or off exploring my next destination, I love embracing new experiences, being creative and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.
